Static or Dynamic ?

There are basically two main types of websites - static and dynamic. A static site is one that is usually written in plain HTML and what is in the code of the page is what is displayed to the user. To do any modification you will need the help of a professional. A dynamic site is one that is written using a server-side scripting language and linked with a database.

Even though we do develop static websites, we do not recommend such due to the following reasons.

  1. A website should be live. If it contains the same content for years, users will not visit the site regularly since there's nothing new to see. So we need to update the website from time to time.
  2. Even though the initial development fee is much less than a dynamic site, you will have to expend much on updates. Any small update is a cost.
  3. Scalability issues - For an example, if you wish to sell products on your site and you have a lot of them then you may have to construct individual pages for each one, which can take a considerable time, effort and cost.
